A few updates from the front lines.

Writing

Today I am hoping to have what I believe to be an almost final draft of the EB5 script. I think it’s a relatively funny and odd movie, but a lot of other people seem to think it is dark. At any rate, no one is complaining, because I guess it’s entertaining!

Tucson

On the 12th of this month, I’m making a drive with Jon and Mimi (production designers) and Robbie (Ness, producer, and all around big bro) to Tucson, AZ. It is there we will be meeting up with Reid Young of Fangamer, and begin hashing out details on special effects, production costs, and the possibility of not doing a DVD. (Not sure yet! We may just offer an HD file online)

Equipment

We got the Canon Rebel T2i yesterday, which I think is a spectacular camera! This is what we’ll be shooting EB5 on, so I’m attempting to get a good feel with it.

Props

Over the last few days I’ve been trying to find a specific (non-firing) gun, the colt 38. Detective Special. Unfortunately, no one makes replicas of this specific gun. However, I found one person on a gun collectors/dealing website who is selling a custom weighted replica for only $35 + $15 shipping. This all sounded good to me, but then the emails started.

Here’s where I take issue. Money orders. They are so risky and so annoying. Also, the way this guy typed his email sounds like he is either the most technologically inept person I’ve ever spoken to, or he just doesn’t know how to talk to customers without sounding like he’s screaming instructions. At any rate, I put up with a few more emails like the one above, and today I’ll be throwing caution to the wind and sending this gentleman $50. I figure if I get ripped off, at least the story itself is worth the $50.
I’ll let you guys know how it goes.

    Not enough people comment on this and I just wanted to make sure I start doing my part.

    First off, I love what you guys are doing with EarthBound.
    I enjoy watching the episodes over and over again.

    Second, I hope everything goes well with the money order. I’m really looking forward to the fifth episode.
    The trailer gives me chills to this day.
